Stagecoach is one of the biggest country music festivals in the United States. This year 75,000 people attended the Indio, CA festival. Some of the main artists who performed were Florida Georgia Line, Lee Brice, Garth Brooks, and Keith Urban. The festival lasts 3 days with the costs for tickets cost around $300. Food and drinks are not included in the cost of tickets. There were, however, a lineup of food vendors on par with the 3 stages of entertainment. BBQ and southern foods led the culinary options.

Some people from the Xavier community attended the festival, and the Examiner asked them questions about the festival and their thoughts about it. Carter Lawton was asked about what his favorite performance was, and he answered, “Brett Young because he was good, and I liked him”.

Janey Castoe attended the festival with friends; Janey has gone to this festival for the past two years. When she was asked who her favorite performers were, Janey said, “I liked Florida Georgia Lines songs, Keith Urban’s performance, and Jake Owen.”

Peyton Fraser has been to the festival 6 times. When asked if she met any famous people, Peyton enthusiastically responded, “Yes, I met Taylor Lautner!”

Stagecoach is a big part of not only the Coachella Valley but also our Xavier community. The festival season which includes Stagecoach is a hectic but fun time to hang out with friends and make memories. It is also exciting due to all the famous people that come down to perform or just attend. The festival season offers the opportunity to be in community with each other while enjoying music, which is also a good way to connect with people. Some people look forward to this all year! It is truly a perfect way to represent Xavier and show strangers a bit of the Saints’ Spirit.
