Attacks by Syrian regime on the city of Douma.

On April 14th, 2018, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom carried out a series of military strikes, which included aircraft, and ship-based missiles against multiple government sites in Syria. The attack started at 04:00 Syrian time.

Their reasoning for this strike was due to the Douma chemical attack against civilians on 7 April, which they attributed to the Syrian government. The Syrian Government denied any involvement in the Douma attacks and then called the bombings a violation of international law.

The allies hit three targets, including the capital of Damascus, a research center, a storage facility, and an equipment facility and command post. Damascus residents said they awoke to explosions. The strikes apparently hit the heart of Syria’s chemical weapon program. During the attack, there were no American pilots killed, according to the Pentagon, and the US did not know of any civilian casualties.

The strikes came just six days after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s forces used chemical weapons against locals outside

Damascus, killing at least 42 adults and children. Doctors and other activist showed pictures of, men, women, and children with foam coming out of their mouths, which they said meant that they were exposed to a nerve agent.
